Add-In Manager Dialogue

IPSentry Add-In Manager

Add-Ins enhance and extend ipSentry usability, monitoring, and alert notification capabilities by providing access to third-party or in-house developed software.

ipSentry utilizes 3 types of Add-Ins. Any single Add-In may or may not provide services for one or all three types.

Menu Style:
These Add-Ins can be either full blown applications that you add to the Add-In menu option on the Active Display, or they may customized components that conform to the ipSentry Add-In Development Specification (IADS). These components can be report generators, log analyzers, etc... Anything that users of ipSentry may find beneficial to be accessible from the Active Display Menu.

Monitoring Style:
These Add-Ins are customized components that conform to the ipSentry Add-In Development Specification (IADS). These components allow almost limitless possibilities to the monitoring options within ipSentry. Obviously, a single application can not handle every single requirement of network monitoring. With Monitoring Add-Ins, developers can create components that will fulfill that need. (I.e. Perhaps you want to monitor the size of a given file, a VERY simple add-in could be developed to monitor the size of a file and return alert information if the size has or has not been reached.)

Alert & Notification Style:
These Add-Ins are customized components that conform to the ipSentry Add-In Development Specification (IADS). These components allow almost limitless possibilities to the notification options within ipSentry. Obviously, a single application can not handle every single notification possibility. With Alert Add-Ins, developers can create components that will fulfill that need. (I.e. Perhaps you have the file size add-in running, and you want to rename the file or move it to another location - an Alert Add-In could be easily developed to perform this task.)
